Meet Opportunity
Not every opportunity arrives with flashing lights.
Sometimes, it has four paws, a wagging tail, and an incredible ability to find young people who are changing the world.
Meet Opportunity, the official canine ambassador of Author's Easel.
Unlike Chance, who stars in fictional stories that inspire young readers to dream bigger, Opportunity has a very real mission: to seek out real young entrepreneurs, hear their stories, celebrate their accomplishments, and introduce them to the world.
Every entrepreneur has a story.
Every story has the power to inspire another.
Author's Easel wants to help get your story out there.
Through The Opportunity Stories, readers will discover authentic interviews with remarkable young business owners who prove that age is never a barrier to creativity, leadership, or success. These stories aren't just about making money, they're about building confidence, serving others, overcoming obstacles, and turning ideas into action.
Opportunity believes every young entrepreneur deserves to be seen, celebrated, and encouraged.
Because when one young person shares their story...
Another young person begins to believe,
"Maybe I can do that too."
At Author's Easel, that's what Opportunity is all about.
Finding tomorrow's business leaders today, and helping the world discover them, one story at a time.
Coming Soon!
Some stories begin with a knock.
Others begin with a bark.
But the very best stories begin when someone opens the door.
Meet Chance, the lovable golden retriever who stars in The Chance Stories, the fictional children's book series from Author's Easel.
Chance has a remarkable gift.
He always seems to arrive at exactly the right moment, just when a young person is about to give up on an idea, question their abilities, or wonder if they're too young to make a difference. With a gentle nudge, a patient gaze, and an encouraging wag of his tail, Chance helps young entrepreneurs discover that the greatest opportunities are often hiding inside the talents they already possess.
He never gives anyone a business.
He never hands out money.
He never solves problems for them.
Instead, Chance asks questions, listens carefully, and encourages young dreamers to take the next brave step. Along the way, they learn lessons about creativity, confidence, resilience, kindness, leadership, and entrepreneurship, one adventure at a time.
To Chance, success isn't measured by how much money someone makes.
It's measured by the courage to begin, the willingness to learn, and the heart to help others along the way.
Every chapter in The Chance Stories reminds readers that they don't have to wait until they're older to make an impact. Big dreams often begin with small actions, and every entrepreneur starts somewhere.
Chance believes every child has a unique gift.
Sometimes they simply need someone to help them see it.
So whenever you hear a knock,
Or imagine the soft sound of paws outside your door,
Remember what Chance already knows:
Opportunity doesn't always arrive when you're ready.
Sometimes it arrives to help you become ready.
And all it asks,
Is that you open the door.
Maya didn’t call it a business. That was the rule.
If you called something a business, it had expectations. Customers. Deadlines. Mistakes you couldn’t just delete and pretend never happened.
So Maya called it “just something I do.”
It sounded safer that way.
Safer meant she didn’t have to be wrong.
On most afternoons, Maya sat cross-legged on her bedroom floor with her laptop balanced on a stack of old notebooks. Her room always looked halfway between “organized” and “I’ll clean this later,” which meant it was usually both at the same time.
She opened her design program, clicked into her folder labeled Random Stuff, and started building.
Phone wallpapers.
Not fancy ones. Not anything she would show a teacher or post online.
Just clean designs. Color gradients. Soft quotes. Minimal shapes that made her feel like the world was a little more put together than it actually was.
Her friends liked them.
That was the strange part.
“Can you make me one with stars?”
“Can you do purple but like … not boring purple?”
“Can you add my name but make it look cool?”
Maya did it every time.
And every time, she said the same thing.
“Sure. It’s nothing.”
She didn’t realize she said it so often it started to sound like a fact.
That afternoon, the light in her room was fading into orange. The kind of sunset that made everything look softer than it really was.
Maya stretched, closed her laptop, and reached for her phone.
Three new messages.
One from her friend Aiden.
“Bro … your wallpapers are actually everywhere now.”
Maya frowned.
“Everywhere” was a dramatic word. People used it when they meant “three people I know.”
She opened the message thread.
There it was.
A screenshot.
Then another.
Then another.
Her designs, her exact wallpapers, on different phones. Different usernames. Different group chats.
No credit.
No mention.
Just … out there.
Her stomach did a small, uncomfortable drop.
“It’s just designs,” she muttered to herself. “People share stuff.”
Still, something about it didn’t feel small anymore.
She shut her laptop a little harder than she meant to.
That was when she heard it.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Not loud. Not aggressive.
Confident.
Maya froze.
At Author's Easel, we believe every young person has the potential to create, lead, solve problems, and make a difference. Our mission is to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs through engaging stories, practical business education, and real-world examples that show what's possible when young people believe in themselves.
Our books are more than stories, they are stepping stones. Each title is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, encourage creativity, and introduce the skills that help young people succeed in business and in life. Whether a reader dreams of opening a lemonade stand, designing artwork, baking cookies, inventing a new product, or launching the next great company, our goal is to show them that every successful entrepreneur starts with a single idea and the courage to take the first step.
Author's Easel brings entrepreneurship to life in two unique ways:
The Chance Stories are fictional adventures featuring Chance, a wise and encouraging golden retriever who helps young dreamers discover their talents, overcome self-doubt, and develop an entrepreneurial mindset through inspiring stories and meaningful life lessons.
The Opportunity Stories feature real young entrepreneurs from around the world. These true stories celebrate children and teens who have turned ideas into businesses, solved problems in their communities, and proven that age is never a limit to making a positive impact.
Together, these books teach much more than how to start a business. They help young readers develop confidence, resilience, leadership, financial literacy, communication skills, creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.
Beyond books, Author's Easel is building a community where young entrepreneurs can be recognized, encouraged, and connected through interviews, educational resources, workbooks, challenges, classroom materials, mentorship opportunities, and business showcases. We want every child to see someone like themselves succeeding, and to realize that they can succeed too.
Our vision is to create a world where entrepreneurship is introduced early, encouraged often, and celebrated everywhere. We hope to equip millions of young people with the mindset, skills, and confidence to transform their ideas into opportunities, their passions into purpose, and their dreams into reality.
At Author's Easel, we don't just publish books.
We help young people discover what they're capable of becoming.
Because every great business begins with an idea.
Every great leader begins with courage.
And every great journey begins when someone believes they can.
